Recently, I had the opportunity to talk about Avalon Moon with one of my favorite people I’ve never met in person. Paul Burke is the voice of — and the mind behind — Aspects of Crime (website, podcast, digital magazine, and more) and Crime Time FM (one of my favorite podcasts). He’s also the author of Spies on Screen: From Silent to Streaming (January 2027).
Paul and I started talking about Avalon Moon and ranged through “cultural mythology, education and young people, Walnut, North Carolina, the Appalachian mountains, saw mills and repurposing town, outsider/insider,” as Paul put it in the show notes. Before we knew it, almost an hour and a half had passed.
